HELP! cant access the XI gui

guys I just did an upgrade to xi xi-2012r1.8.tar.gz
The install went perfectly, no errors or any thing.
But when we try to log into the Nagiosxi

http://blah/nagiosxi

I get a to the

"welcome to nagios xi screen" 

after clicking that then I just get a blank screen or

webpage not available

.
however when I tru to log into Core

Code: Select all

http://blah/nagios

I can with no problem.

During the install I made sure that the tmp dir was empty
after the install and the issue happened I ran these commands:

/etc/init.d/nagios stop
/etc/init.d/nagiosxi stop
/etc/init.d/ndo2db stop
/etc/init.d/npcd stop

and then:

/etc/init.d/httpd restart
/etc/init.d/npcd start
/etc/init.d/ndo2db start
/etc/init.d/nagiosxi start
/etc/init.d/nagios start

with no issues.

Sanitize and season with salt as necessary.

I forgot to mention that I'd upgraded to 2.9 and then downgraded to 2.8.
When I did the upgrade to 2.9 from 2.6, everything worked perfectly.

But I had to downgrade to 2.8 in order to match my back up servers config.

Again the upgrade to 2.9 worked perfectly.

still having issues. i have not upgraded to 2.9, I was asking if you suggest that I redo the 2.9 upgrade.

Downgrading generally breaks things. It's fixable but I don't have the experience with this to feel comfortable leading you through it. I personally would just upgrade, but if abrist or sreinhardt (tomorrow, he's out today) are willing they might have a better idea of what's needed.
