Nagios capacity increase

Post by jwu »

Dear Nagios,

We've been using Nagios for half a year now, we are increasing the Nagios usage, recently we went from 80 hosts to 130 hosts, and are going to past 200 in a few months.
Our Server is running slow, recently did increase the memory from 2GB to 8GB, but it seems to not be enough.
The current box has the following specs
8GB
2vCPU
2 cores per CPU
10GB of disk

If we are looking to eventually be looking at 500~1000 hosts, is there a suggested spec for the hardware? Our Nagios server is a VM, so we can grow the hardware (disk, CPU, memory etc...). I have the system status attached.

thanks!

Did you look at our Hardware Requirements doc?

According to that you should bump it up to 4 cores, and about 120g of hard drive space.
