Nagios XI admin create user sms information

We are in the process of seriously purchasing Nagios XI. We have been using Nagios core for several years but having to manually create and edit config files for one admin has been overwhelming. We are hoping with XI we can delegate these responsibilities across the board. However, we do have some developers that do not want to have to setup notification alerts so I am wondering as an admin can I create this user and provide the phone number and carrier for a different user? I have looked all around but am not seeing anywhere that I can provide SMS notifications for a particular user.

Sure you can, just change the notification options for that user, and re-assign them to one of your other SMS/text addresses/numbers. You should be good to go!

Where is that setting located? I click on the user but don't see anywhere to enter the SMS information.

This would have to be set in the user's personal notification settings from their account, you can masquerade as them from the User Management page, and I believe change options as well.

I am still a little confused. So, I create a new host and service check and in doing so assigne this host and service to a notification group. The notification group is an email group. If specific services need to have immediate attention and sent off to a phone (sms) or pager the user would have to set that up? Or I would need to login to Nagios XI as that user and make the necessary change? It appears Nagios XI is using the database while I was using just flat files for Nagios core so I was able to manually configure the /usr/local/nagios/etc/contacts and specify that information for the users.

I currently have several hosts and service checks that go out to a phone for notifications to developers and without creating a "how-to" document this may be confusing to some people. Maybe I am missing something or have missed it but is there a best practice implementation guide or migration guide that I could look at. I know the current Nagios core that I am running is a mess and when migrating over I want to do it right the first time.
