Access to raw monitoring data

Post by Jaysen.ODell »

We have a request to export raw data used to create performance graphs for a service to excel. Is there a facility to accommodate this?

Thank you.

Our performance graph information is stored in RRD files, and we use PNP4Nagios to do our graphing. I believe rrdtool is used on the backend for this, but to answer your question: no, we don't have an export option in XI for this. However it should be easy enough to query if you know rrdtool.

Is it possible to have a feature request to allow CSV download of data via the UI?

The intent is to allow users with access permissions who do NOT have os level access the ability to import data to excel for complex comparisons. EX: post release of software package to server farm, create comparison charts by server for for last 3 releases (three trend lines with arbitrary start/stop times for data).

FYI, I just filed an internal feature request (TASK ID 2601). If you wish, you can file one on the public tracker as well.

Thank you.

Internal is sufficient for now.

Since we have a feature request open for this I'll be closing the thread.
