Creating a Dashboard that includes graphs and service detail

Post by brandon.pal »

Hey,

I'm trying to create a view that has some custom graphs as well as host group service details. I've attached a picture of what I'm trying to do.

If that could be done could I then re-arrange how that is laid out.

For example hide ping, hide duration.

Change the table all together so I see hosts on the left and on the top I see a list of services and underneath just see the returned value?

Thank you.

You will not be able to hide services, unless you create a filter that excludes them specifically or used host\service groups. However you should be able to add all of these pages with either the custom url dashlet or just dashifying the graphs directly. Then yes you can move them around freely.

Much closer :)

Yes I have the dashboards on there from before.

I'm able to add the host list as a custom URL.

I'm using http://nagios.cloud.com/nagiosxi/includ ... roup=Power

Now how could I alter that string to just have the table and not other stuff as well as you mention filters. What are my filter options? Can I fildter in just status information?

If you are looking to rearrange the format of the table, that will not work. However if you need filters you can always (in Firefox at least) right click in the Service Details page, and then go to This Frame -> Open Frame in New Tab. Then you can click around on the filters and see how the URL changes.

In terms of the actual layout, can you sketch out an example of what you want to see? It almost sounds like you want BBMap or something similar.

What do you see when you use the following URL?

http://nagios.cloud.com/nagiosxi/includ ... earch=Load

http://nagios.cloud.com/nagiosxi/includ ... tal%20Load

With small change I see the the total load only. Now how can I grab just the graph and not include all the other things in the page.

And is it possible to lay it out as I attached before?

Thank you for your help so far :)

Changing the layout with this specific dashlet will not work. The best you can do is restrict it using filters as you have already done.

Where did you get that screenshot? Would something like this work? Doesn't show the numbers but it is close in format at least.

Was just my sketch of what I'd like to see. Am I able to create a custom page that I can to look how I like?

The BBMap would work IF it showed values instead of icons.

As well I can see other usses for BBMap but i would have to be able to filer it.

I'm afraid nothing like that exists right now, but we always accept feature requests: http://tracker.nagios.com

If you wanna make a request for that we can have our devs take a look and see what they can do. No guarantees, but more exposure makes it more likely to be considered.
