Monitor Hosts based on Hostname

Hi,

Is there any option to monitor hosts based on Hostnames as i have around 100 vm's and the IP's are through dhcp, if the IP changes each time it will be difficult to change in the Nagios Server.

So is there work around for this so that i can monitor the VM's based on Hostname ?

That is already supported in nagios as long as your DNS is properly configured and working well with DHCP. Other than that, you would need to use passive checking.
