Check EMC Isilon
Re: Check EMC Isilon
We try to help out as much as we can with third-party plugins, if that is what you are asking. We can't make any guarantees, however. If you have a question feel free to ask and we'll do what we can.

Re: Check EMC Isilon
That is indeed what I am asking, thank you tmcdonald.
Does Nagios support have experience with this plugin?
The author's write-up does not include much in the way of detail. I've tried emailing him without success.

Re: Check EMC Isilon
I don't have any experience using that plugin, no. If you have specific questions feel free to ask, but I personally don't have much to offer.

Re: Check EMC Isilon
One of the things we were trying to find out was if root access is required to run the 'Check EMC Isilon' scripts.
I examined the script (Isilon/ce/isilon-checks.sh) that runs the checks remotely from the Nagios server. It indeed requires root login to the Isilon via SSH.
Also, the help file for the OneFS ‘isi’ command stipulates the following:
“Subcommands or actions marked with * are not enabled for role-based administration. Root user access is required”
This seems to apply to a majority of ‘isi’ subcommands.
So I have the answer to my question. Please close thread.
