I am trying to give our users access to the event log. Currently, the three areas that we have checked are: Can see all hosts and services:, Can control all hosts and services: and Can access advanced features. The only way to have them see the event log was to give them Can see/control monitoring engine:. I don't want them to be able to do the functions of that setting as described in the documentation but when I checked it and masquerared as that user I could see the event log but didn't have access to the Admin tab. am I missing something? Basically I want users to be able to see everything, schedule downtime and access the event log.
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Security Settings
The monitoring engine portion, would really only give some access to downtime and other scheduling items as well as acknowledgements for objects that they are not a direct contact for. To view the admin page within XI, you must be an admin user, there is no other way to access it, as there is much functionality there that otherwise needs to be protected.
