Service - Bandwidth Threshold
Service - Bandwidth Threshold
I need to modify the thresholds for bandwidth warnings. I have over 2000 of them to change but I need a quick way of doing it. Any suggestions?

Re: Service - Bandwidth Threshold
Unfortunately you cannot use the bulk modification tool to change thresholds at this time, you can however, re-run the wizard you used to create these checks against the same host to change the thresholds.

Re: Service - Bandwidth Threshold
You have a couple options:
1) within the XI interface, copy one bandwidth service. Remove all unnessecary data aside from the thresholds also untick the register box, so that it becomes a template. Then remove the thresholds from all other bandwidth checks that you wish to alter, and add this clone, as a template to mass apply your new thresholds.
2) Copy the services you wish to modify into the import directory. Modify them as needed, as flat files with any tool you wish, and follow the rest of the import configuration document. http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... nto_XI.pdf
Someone else may chime in with another option, but these are the two I would suggest.

Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
Re: Service - Bandwidth Threshold
Has there been an update to this in 2014 XI? We also have hundreds if not thousands of bandwidth thresholds that we need to change. We are looking for any solution that could make this process easier.sreinhardt wrote:You have a couple options:

Re: Service - Bandwidth Threshold
Right now it looks like sreinhardt's second solution might be easiest. We do not have a tool presently in XI to make mass modifications to specific command arguments.
