Nagios NA Performance

Post by costanza2k1 »

I'm running NA version 1.7 on a RHEL VM with 24 cores and 16GB or RAM. Currently only collecting netflow from 4 devices. When connecting to a core router under sources to get to the top 5 talks, NA really lags. Is it supposed to do this since it's going through tons of data? Anyway to increase the performance of the NA? Just curious to see what others are facing.

How does it lag? Does the one page you visit hang, do all pages hang, is the CPU load high? Speaking of, could you run that Top 5 Talkers again and run top while it is querying? Then send the results in a PM so we can check them out.

So I sat on this for a while and went back to it. I believe the performance problems are related to me pulling up stats on our core internet routers (on average 5 gigs of traffic every 5 minutes). When going to smaller devices Nagios NA screams, I think that's to be expected. We can go ahead and close this one.

Yea that would make sense. I'll go ahead and close this now.
