Evaluating Nagios XI - need help with agents

Post by iinfi »

I am evaluating Nagios XI in my test environment with windows and Linux servers and also virtualized VMware and Hyper-V servers.
I am having trouble with NSClient++-Stable-64.msi. The agents dont seem to install well on WS2012 and WS2012 R2. nagevlog-setup-1.9.2 also throws C++ errors.

someone from nagios sales team told me to use NCPA. I used the one http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/ncpa/ncpa-head.exe but that doesnt seem to work with Nagios XI as nagios XI asks me to install the NSClient during autodiscovery of windows servers.
Am I missing anything here?

any inputs appreciated ... Thanks

If you want to use nsclient, I would recommend sticking with the 0.3.9 version as we have had lots of issues with the 0.4.X line.

And for NCPA, you can just use the NCPA Wizard.
