If you run a regular whois from the linux command line on a .co it would almost certainly fail as well (as this is essentially what happens on the backend for this wizard/plugin). Let me talk to the developer who wrote this and I'll get back to you.

Hello gravitas!

Currently the return of the following command

I'm planning on adding some functionality to the wizard where is checks the domain that was specified and looks to see if it is registered. If it is registered it checks using the default whois server whois.internic.net. If this returns something like "No match for domain GRAVITAS.CO" for example AND the domain is registered it will give you a dropdown list of common whois servers and an text input field to use a custom whois server if the server isn't in the drop down list. Then the check will be run with the -h <whois server> flag.

This should allow for a large amount of domain support. I'll try to get this in asap.
