Nope. this change goes through a single poller. Right now my gearman structure is only to address isolated environments from central node. This quarter I plan to implement multiple pollers per environment.

Did your python guru have a chance to take a look at the plugin? This is 3rd party plugin (not a nagios plugin) so maybe the developer can shed some light on the issue. Anyway, I found two articles that might at least point you to the right direction:
