I got 9 workstation installed and it still did not import properly.

Hmm.. Is the file located on the workstation, or a remote share? I had issues until I actually downloaded the ova to my local machine, then it started working.

i have both the 32 bit and 64 bit downloaded to local machine. I've downloaded the OVF file several times and even downloaded it to a different drive and still no joy.

Is a source installation not an option for you? There may be some hardware compatibility issues at play here, I can't replicate this.

I'm unable to download iso's at work so i cant install CentOS or RHEL, and we're unable to bring media into our secure facility so i cant bring a usb or dvd in with the os on it.. as well I don't have access to a server that can work for a source install.

I'm pretty sure your version of VMware player is too old for these VM's.

You should be trying version 12.

version 12 is only for 64bit OS's and several times I've pointed out I'm on a x86 OS thanks though!

Not sure how else to help you, then. This is a problem with VMWare Player, not Nagios XI. You might try asking for a workaround on the VMWare forums.
