Are you able to access <IP/FQDN>/nagios yet? If not, can you post the contents of /usr/share/nagios/share

Also, the UFW is on, could this be the issue? (although, that said, when i disable it , i still cant connect )

The outputs of that file look good.

What is the output of netstat -anp|grep 22? I want to make sure apache is listening.

Also, can you post your error_log / access_log?

While the instructions you posted are for arch, when you bring Manjaro into the mix it does change things a little bit. That's probably what we're working through at this point.

Ah, my apologies. It should have been [/icode]netstat -anp|grep 80[/icode]

The error_log and access_log should be under /var/log/ somewhere, possibly /var/log/httpd or /var/log/apache -- I don't know the exact folder structure on arch.

This would be the nagios log file -- can you please post the access_log and error_log?

You'll need to check out your apache configuration, as it does not look like the service is listening on port 80. Can you run curl 127.0.0.1 and post the result?

For reference, I think once you figure out what's going on exactly with apache, Nagios should be functioning. These errors indicate that you haven't installed the plugins yet.

the output of curl is

Ive searched for access_logs, and error_logs but can only locate them in the /var/log/cups/ directory.

Can you verify apache is running?

so i had a look at this.

sudo nano /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
and added this,
Include "conf/extra/nagios.conf"
removing some other stuff that was there (arch documentaion very unclear on this)

so now when i go to 10.0.2.127, i get "welcome to arch" screen
and if i go to 10.0.2.127/nagios im prompted for a username and password. (of which i've long since forgotten ) i will have to see if i can reset that now..

think we are getting closer..
