This is off topic, but is there a policy for using Selenium with NXI, or can Selenium be installed on the NXI hosts?

From our understanding Selenium doesn't work with current versions of Firefox and as such, we have removed all documentation we had for using it with Nagios.

My question is can Selenium be installed on the NXI hosts?
I would think that Selenium might/should work with some other browsers. I've seen Chrome in Selenium configs. I don't claim to know a thing about Selenium other than it's supposed to allow automating web browsers.

I would not install selenium on the XI server if that's what you're asking, install it on a separate server if you'd like to use it. The reason I say this is because you want to do all that you can to reduce load on your XI server so that it can process the most amount of checks possible as your configuration grows (especially something as resource heavy as a selenium server), it also could introduce incompatibilities with its package requirements.

Hope that answers your question.

Thank you

Do you have any more questions on this or are we okay to mark this as resolved and lock the topic?
