Manual upgrade worked fine also:

Code: Select all

Things look okay - No serious problems were detected during the pre-flight check

Hi @bomahony,
Where is the web interface getting its information from saying that it was not successful?
I just spoke to another support tech and apparently this has happened before. On occasion, the install script will complete successfully but not return the correct exit code to the web interface.

Appreciate your input, I will file bug report on this issue.

No worries! There was a few issues i needed to clean up anyway [some idiot has subscribed the node to an extra spacewalk channel that was causing php-common conflicts, there was duplicate checks etc - but none of these were actually failing the upgrade. Ever the very first one when this happened actually passed.]

So my last questions:
#1 If this is going to happen in my production nodes, is it possible to manually put a rollback point in the webui
#2 Is it possible to upgrade one of my nodes to 5.5.10 and then go to 5.5.11 to see if it still happens?

Hi @bomahony,

In response to your last two questions.

1. You can create configuration snapshosts to rollback to but not for whole backups. I would recommend backing up the system ( or VM snapshot) to create a return point. Local backups are located in /store/backups/nagiosxi, and contain everything your need to restore or migrate the server.

2. You'll have to download the specific version first and then perform a manual upgrade before going to 5.5.11.

That seems like everything. I dont know if i will have time to update to 5.5.10 then 5.5.11, but thanks for the info.

In regards to the backups, we take VM snapshots, and do back dumps to NFS, I was more interested in the upgrade screen where it shows previous roll back points.
