Hello, we are having others reporting what could be similarly related issues and our lead developer will be taking a look at this.

We're currently testing a fix for this issue, if it's confirmed we'll post a patch here that will also be included in the next release.

In our company we have 2009R1.4B version of Nagios with same problem.
We tried that 'Nagios support wiki' resolution but it didn't help us.
System is still reporting that 'Event data is stale!', and 'Last event data transfer was 15105d ... Ago'. -> this is odd?
Please, do you have some proposal? Thank you in advance.

Just to verify, have you downloaded and inserted the new dbmaint.php script from the wiki?
Can you send me the output from the following commands?
Code: Select all
rm -f /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/dbmaint.lock
/usr/local/nagiosxi/cron/dbmaint.php

mguthrie,
in meantime I downloaded newer version of Nagios 2011R1.2 and installed it.
With this version I managed to solve this problem.
Yes, I completely followed wiki instructions and inserted a new script, but it didn't help me.
Do you still want this output?
Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for help.

If you're still experiencing the event data issue, then yes, go ahead and post the output from that script. I want to verify that the repair procedure repaired the tables correctly.
