Sorry I've been busy. I did manage to download it and get it up and running so if I get enough time tomorrow I'll spend some time looking into it.

Hi John,
I spent some time looking at this today and I think your problem is related to your contact definitions. Specifically you have host and service commands assigned to "host commands" and host and service commands assigned to "service commands".

All of your contacts should be updated so they ONLY have host commands assigned to "host commands" and service commands assigned to "service commands".

This screenshot from your VM shows what I am explaining:

Gotcha, I will go through the contacts and verify.

What do you think of the gui Interface for configuring Nagios?

The GUI makes things much, much easier :)

I'm used to Nagios XI which implements a similar version of this.

I went through all the active contacts and corrected them

I will watch to see if the issue still happens

it still happens.
As a test, I restarted the machine G1VTENF01 and the emails started.

I would also confirm in /usr/local/nagios/nagiosql/contacts.cfg to make sure they are set correctly.

Make sure nagios was restarted.
