We'd like to monitor our email system, with a top-to-bottom functionality test.
I'm thinking that one of our linux servers might have a cron job that sends out an email to an Amazon EC2 Virtual Machine. That VM just forwards all incoming mail back to us, and it's delivered to the same internal linux server. A Nagios client checks that email is received regularly.
Kind of "Rube Goldberg", but any other thoughts are welcome. Thanks....Lyle

Are you trying to check email deliverability? We have a Email Delivery Wizard in XI that will test mail server‘s reception and simulated user‘s inspection of email messages.
