Host or Service does not always show in Mass Acknowlege

Post by ecarrasq »

Linux Distribution and version? CentOS, 2.6.18-308.8.2.el5PAE
32 or 64bit? 32bit
VMware Image or Manual Install of XI? VMware Image
Are there specials configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? No
Are you using a proxy? No
Are you using SSL? Yes
Nagios Version? Nagios XI 2012R1.6

A NagiosXi user reported to me that sometimes a host or a service that is down (warning/critical) does not always show up in the "Mass Acknowledge". How and what kind of information I can gather to troubleshoot this occurrence?

Thank you,
Eddie

I would ask the user, did the host/service's state change between the time he/she saw it, to the time that they were going to mass acknowledge it? A way to test this would be to submit a passive check result to one of your test hosts/services changing it's state to critical, and then send another one changing it to another state, and checking to see if it shows up in the interface, or how quickly it responds to these changes.
