So, I have a Nagios server I have adopted in a new job. Nagios version 3.2.3 on fedora 13. It is configured so that 2 users other than the admin can log in to the web interface for viewing purposes. I have created a config file for 7 new hosts with a service for each and a hostgroup for them. I have put the 2 users as the contacts for the services and hosts and anywhere else I could find associated with them. When I log in to the web interface as admin all looks the way I want but when logging in as the restricted users and I click host group on the left my new one does not show up, however all the other groups do. Also, with the restricted user I can view the new services and hosts by clicking hosts or services on the left side. I would like to contain this new group, hosts and services to one config file due to I really don't want to edit the existing files because I am not really sure what the previous admin has done and there are 100's of servers. Don't want to mess anything up. Thanks!
Darren
Non viewable new host group
Re: Non viewable new host group
Issue solved. Apparently if not all of the hosts in the group have the same contacts then it will show the group at all for that login.
Re: Non viewable new host group
