Nagios wont generate notification service

I found an anomaly in out system where nagios is not generating notification for a service. Other service with similar settings work just fine. I've looked everywhere but cant seem to find the root of the problem. We are on lattest NagiosXI enterprise. where should I focus?

If and when the service is in a problem state, try running the check from the cli, just to make sure that it is failing and not some ui problem. Next, check which contacts/users are configured on the object and masquerade as one of them. Go to the failing service details page and send a custom notification. See if that user received the notification. If not, check the notification options of the user. If it does send, check the object to make sure notifications are enabled and that it is not in "downtime". That should get you started.
