Syslog & Event correlation Reports

1) Syslog

We have a client who wants reports of syslog server

Scenario :

There are logs of different devices, all logs will be saved in syslog server.
so basically they want nagios to pull the log data from syslog server by specifying device name or ip address and generate reports.


Till what extent nagios can fullfill the requirement
OR
Is there any plugins or 3rd party open source tool to integrate into nagios



2) Event correlation

Based on the Event ID's can we generate reports

I'd recommend trying a plugin such as this one:

I have used this plugin to check a phpLogCon server.
