Querying a DB?

Is there a way that I can set a service to query a DB and get the result to be logged by nagios? We have an application that uses an Oracle DB and I would like to get some stats from the DB and put them into a nagios graph.

I guess if not, I could always write perl script to that Nagios runs.

Have you tried using the Oracle Monitoring Wizards from the following menu?:

Configure > Configuration Wizard > "Oracle Wizards"
