How to send alert to different mail id ?

Post by bojha »

Hi All,

We have some users/contacts, all are having mail id of same domain (EX. [email protected]) and smtp server is configured and all are getting the alerts for any host or services.
now the requirement is, some new users/contacts having different mail id(EX. [email protected]) of different domain needs to get the alert ? We tried adding as new contacts with the new mail id but it didn't worked.

Do I need to make any changes in Nagios XI Configuration to make it work for different mail id ?
Do I need to make any changes to Linux box where nagios is running ?
Do we need to make any changes in the smtp server to make it work ?
Is it necessary a contacts should be a user for getting the alert ?

Please suggest me how can i accomplish this because, any way both the different mail id needs to get the alert ?

Our Nagios Version is Nagios XI 2011R1.9

Does your smtp server allow the relaying of emails for another domain?
