How to change hostname in auto discovery

Post by anoop »

Dear Team,

I am auto-discovering each host and i need to change the hostname to some different name.. Please let me know the procedure..

We tried to change hostnam, but showing invalid hostname in auto-discovering option.. Is there any other way to change hostname for all my host devices... ??

I need to add hosts one by one and is there any way apart from auto discovery as i dont want to add services right now..only hosts need to be add at this moment..

Thanks n advance...

You can always go into the CCM and create only hosts in there. This way you can create them just about any way you would like. I would highly suggest not using autodiscovery for creation of hosts alone. I would however suggest using the generic host templates to help you avoid needing to put every setting in manually. You could also create your own template and use that, specify all the settings within this template except display and hostname, then create hosts that use this template so you only need to set hostname and optionally display.
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
