Components and Wizards think they are up-to-date

Post by BanditBBS »

Just installed a fresh copy of XI and some of the components are higher versions that on my other servers. When checking for updates on the other servers, they think they are still the most recent.

The components are:
Alert Stream
BBMap
Latest Alerts
Minemap

The Wizards are:
SNMPWalk

I can easily take care of updating them myself, just wanted to point out they are not sensing updates for themselves.

Interesting, just to be sure, you do have internet access on that server?

Yes sir, sure do. It did find updates for a few components and a wizard, just not the ones I listed.

Do you use any caching on those servers? If so, you may have to restart apache for them to report that they are up to date (if you have updated the components).

abrist, they are not up to date and do not see there is an update. The only reason I know there is an update available is because I just installed a new XI server and compared versions with current server(s).

This is very odd. Looking into it.
You don't run a (never updated) squid proxy by chance? :P

I sure don't. I'll investigate a bit more tomorrow as well and make sure I can't find any reason on my end for this to be happening. But as I said, it did find 4 components and 1 wizard to update. Just not the ones listed, so I am doubtful it is on my end, but won't rule it out :|

Just to show you, here is the screen of manage components from a brand new, installed within last 2 days server:

Here is a 2.3 server after hitting 'check for updates' As you can see, it finds one available, but not the BBMap and Alert Stream which are higher version in the new install.
