Hello all,
We've installed a NRPE agent on an AIX test machine and configured the server via the wizard. Why doesn't the AIX wizard in Nagios XI have the ability to add processes like the Linux and Windows? Am I missing something? How do I monitor specific processes? Any suggestions?

Re: Checking AIX processes with NRPE Agent
Have you tried using the NRPE Wizard itself and selecting AIX? That wizard does have an option for check_total_procs.

Was hoping to check a specific process on the Linux screen.

Re: Checking AIX processes with NRPE Agent
That is because by default the AIX NRPE agent does not include a pre-defined command in it's nrpe.cfg, nor does the standard NRPE installation, the Linux Server wizard is modified for the custom Linux Agent version of NRPE for the plugin used to check specific processes. What plugins package did you install with NRPE on your AIX server? Can you list the plugins directory so we can see what you are working with?

Ah ok, that makes total sense. Let me me get with the AIX guy to see what he installed. Thanks!
