What steps are you taking to install Nagios? Are you just doing an install via Yum? Have you done anything before that regarding dependencies? Are you following a specific guide?

Following only the nagiosxi installation guide and nothng has been done regarding dependencies. When i tried to run fullinstall it shows the following error.

Was this a minimal install? It looks like there are a number of packages already installed that are not part of a default rhel minimal install. . .

Hi,
I installed Rhel 6 64 bit as Desktop. Is it ok or i need to install RHEL 6 as minimal install. Previously i installed in RHEL 5 32bit version as Desktop only. If i am wrong kindly correct me.

Installing a desktop version of a distro or anything other than a minimal installation can cause problems with installing Nagios. I'd recommend reinstalling your distro as a minimal installation with no graphical front-end, and nothing else configured on it. Nagios XI should install properly then.Important:
Nagios Enterprises highly recommends and will only support installing Nagios XI on a newly installed, “clean” system (a
bare minimal install with nothing else installed or configured).
