I have a feature request that would save a lot of space in the
escalations.cfg file. I have an instance of Nagios where there are
about 20 checks on 1 host. I have 6 level escalation, which would
result in 5 escalation definitions if all the services had the same
escalation path. However, there are 4 different escalation levels in
those 20 services.
The problem is that I can't put more that one service name on the
service_description line, even though I want them to follow the same
exact escalation. So instead of 20 escalation definitions (5 esc. steps
X 4 different service groups), I need 100 (5 esc. steps X 20 individual
services).
The request in all of this is to be allowed to put more than one service
on the service_description line of the escalation definitions.
I've emailed about this 2 or 3 times without any response, so if someone
could get back to me about this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
