TCP/UDP Wizard Issue

Post by awoodewh »

On the "Server Information" page of the wizard, it ask for the following:

"The IP address or fully qualified DNS name of the server or device you'd like to monitor TCP/UDP ports on.:

Other than the issue of ending the sentence with a preposition, entering the FQDN is a bad idea, as when it creates the host it uses the FQDN for the address. Then, if you dare create a SQL Server monitor, Nagios is becomes VERY unhappy.

Even after deleting the service check, and correcting the host address, applying the config, and then setting up the SQL check again (and again), Nagios continue to display "Sync Missed" after applying the config. I'm hoping that this will clear after it performs database maintenance.

Recommend changing the text to:

The IP address of the server or device on which you'd like to monitor TCP/UDP ports:

That takes care of the preposition as well. :)

Thanks!!
