I added some hosts to nagios via the wizard, and in one of the last steps the wizard asked me if I wanted to add the host to any service groups. I selected some service groups and the wizard added the host to the service groups I specified, but it added all monitored services for the host to the service group. I would now like to remove the host from the service group but can't. The host configuration does not have a service group management screen.
When I go to the core config manager, host management for the host does not have a way to edit the service group membership.
When I go to the core config manager, the to service group management, the host is not listed as a member. So how do I remove that host from that service group?

Re: service groups issue
You don't. Hosts are not members of service groups - services are. The wizard added the services that the wizard created, not the host. You will need to then remove services.

Re: service groups issue
That does makes sense.
If I am in the service group management screen, shouldn't I see those services listed as members? (And therefore be able to remove them.)
Do I have to delete the entire service(s)?

Re: service groups issue
I'm not certain which one you mean by "service group management screen", but for instance if you're on the "Servicegroup Summary" page, you'll see just an overview of the numbers. For instance, I have a service group "HTTP Services", and next to it in the Services column it says "4 Ok". If I click on the "4 Ok", I get a detailed listing of the services for that group. I can then click one of those to get details of it specifically, and on that page is a "Configure" tab with a "Reconfigure this service" link, which brings me to another page with a "Groups" tab, and that lets me uncheck the box for "HTTP Services".
You can also do this more in bulk through the Core Config Manager.

Re: service groups issue
That cleared it up...I have to go to the individual service to remove it from a service group. I had thought that I could also go to the Core Config Manager, then to the Service Groups, and remove members from a service group listed there. But when I do this, the service group members list does not show the services in question as being members.
So to explain better:
I created a service group in the core config manager called "EVDO_RSSI_GROUP".
I added an device using the monitoring wizard, and in one of the last steps of the wizard checked the "EVDO_RSSI_GROUP" services group
This added all services on that are monitored on that device to the "EVDO_RSSI_GROUP" services group
To remove the services on that device from the services group "EVDO_RSSI_GROUP", I had assumed that I could go in to the Core Config Manager and into the service group configuration for that group and just remove members, but the services in question are listed in the list of possible members, but not selected as members, which is a contradiction.
Going into the service itself and reconfiguring it did the trick, but I have 3 service groups with over services each, which is extremely time consuming to reconfigure service-by-service. Is there a way to do this in batch?

Re: service groups issue
This issue is resolved. I was able to remove the memberships...was looking in the wrong place somehow.
Re: service groups issue
Thank you for the update.
