That's because the HTTP, FTP, ... protocols are not covered by the GPL=20
.Rather, they are in the public domain and are established after RFCs=20
have been written and reviewed by a group of people (namely, companies=20
and opensource groups).
In our case, I'm not against writing a protocol for sending Nagios=20
information over the network; in fact I've already done so (in part).=20
What would be important to define is whether the structures of Nagios=20
could be exposed through that definition.
