default root password on version 2011 r1.1

i downloaded the vmware image, converted into our esx environment, but cannot log in.

did the default root password get changed away from 'nagiosxi' ?

PWD: nagiosxi

This should be the default credentials but if you have any difficulties I will will download it and check to verify.

your password was correct.

A very strange thing happened - somehow my new vm was using the virtual hard drive of the old running vm of Nagios XI, so had that password, hosts and services already configured, etc. I've never seen that happen before, a vm mind meld.

i moved the vm to another ESX server and it works just fine.

Ahh excellent! I have had something similar situations happen as well with VM chicanery.
