Import version 2.12 question

Post by lanlnagiosadmin »

First can version 2.12 be imported into XI? I am using the "Using The Config Import Prep Tool" instructions. The 2.12v nagios.cfg file includes the following
cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/common
cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/team1
cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/team2
cfg_dir=/usr/local/etc/nagios/team3

I started by importing a single team's information along with cfg files located at /usr/local/etc/nagios. I got all the way to Verify Configuration in the "Write Database Configs To File" before receiving an error. A service_template from another team folder was needed. So I tried prepping all the files, but got confused because files are named the same in the team directories.

So if version 2.12 can be imported, can someone explain how to import a structure like above with files named the same?

Thank you,
Les

I would do the config prep for all of the teams, but you can keep the files in separate directories, then import ALL of them before doing the Verify Configuration

Thank you for the information. I methodically imported each file, but I can tell from the error message that I imported a service_template that I shouldn't have. When I thought I cleaned that up, the hostgroups are not being found. How can I back out what I have done? I would like to start over.

Thanks, Les

You can remove any of the items you imported in their section of the Core Config Manager
