How to get details of Mac address connected via a switch

Hello All,


I am new in this group and has recently installed nagios in one of my machine to monitor network device.

I will be really great if can help me to resolve the query, So my query is how to get information of Mac and IP address of End user device connected via a switch.

Just to clarify: Do you want the ip/mac of the devices connected to a switch?
If so, is snmp an option? If so, there is a plugin on the exchange to check a switch's arp table:

You may have to create a custom script using a few different snmp checks.
