Notifications - eMail and SMS
Notifications - eMail and SMS
I want to send email for warnings and SMS for critical. Do I need to setup 2 different service checks? Or is there a better solution. I am running XI.

Re: Notifications - eMail and SMS
I am currently seeking an answer for this as well. I am coming from Zabbix where this was the case. Trying to get familiar with the Nagios way of doing state based notifications. The only thing I have seen is that the Enterprise Edition has a section called "Notification Settings Management" which seems to have this control. Is this the only way? I have not found an option yet.

This cannot currently be done without a custom notification handler. It is on the roadmap for XI 2014 features though.

Can you point me to this "custom notification handler" that you are talking about?abrist wrote:This cannot currently be done without a custom notification handler. It is on the roadmap for XI 2014 features though.

You would have to write one, as there is not one. Essentially a script that you would run as a notification handler or and event handler that would handle the logic to parse the passed macros and then take the appropriate notification action.
