email not working after upgrade

Just discovered that Nagios email has stopped working after my recent upgrade to NagiosXI2012R2.7

I can email OK from the UNIX command line.
I'm testing Nagios from <Admin><Mail Settings> and selecting Send Test Email. The page goes blank and never returns any text.
Tested the same process on R2.2 and it returns a screen indicating that the mail was sent and I receive the email OK.

Checking further, I also have the same problem when I change a users password and select Send email.
Also when you select Reset Password from the login screen - screen goes blank

Try to send a test email again. When the page goes blank, run the following command and show the output:

Code: Select all

tail -50 /var/log/httpd/error_log

No errors displayed.... however..... the emails are working again.... sigh..... I now get a screen showing that the email was sent and I also receive it now.

I tested it many times yesterday without success and nothing has changed overnight. Will do more testing today.

Could there have been a problem with the mail relay?

Let us know what you come up with, I'm interested to see what could have been causing this.

I think we can close this - can't come up with any explanation.
Can't be the Mail relay as it worked fine from the command line.

Are you sure? We aren't ready to throw in the towel if you aren't.
