Nagios3 and VMWare Snapshot

Hello all,
we have installed Nagios3 to monitor services and process of our vmware environment. Sometimes, during the backup procedure (with VDP), the monitoring report critical error during the phase of snapshot creation runned by VDP.
Any suggestions to avoid the Nagios sendings notification?

So VPD is reporting an error when backing up nagios, nagios is reporting an error when being backed up, or nagios is reporting an error for something else that is backed up? How does vdp perform backups, does it power down the machine or do a live snapshot and copy?
