Hope I'm ok posting here, tried to post under General Support, but it says "Locked". Having problem pinging the gateway from my virtual server that's hosting Nagios. Here are some variables:
- OS on physical box is Windows Server 2003, SP2 (Standard 64-bit)
- using VMPlayer 3.1.4-385536
- playing the vmx from nagiosxi-2011r1.1-vmware.zip
- Physical box's NIC has 10.0.0.5/24 configured in Windows (eth0)
- The VM that's running Nagios has eth0 set to 10.0.0.21/24
Can ping 10.0.0.21 from the CentOS/Linux prompt, but cannot ping the gateway, 10.0.0.1 (which is reachable pinging from a cmd prompt on the Windows box itself).
Am aware i have to have bridge mode set, and it's configured in Windows on the VMware interfaces. Do i have to enable it on the physical NIC as well?
Also am I supposed to do the same in the CentOS (in VMPlayer) somewhere as well? If so, where/how?
Thanks in advance ~

Alby,
Can you post what the ifconfig command returns from VM CentOS install?
