check_ironport plugin issue

Has anyone received the following error from a Ironport client?

Can't collect data from an Ironpor appliance Ironport. Verify hostname, userID and password!

I have verified the hostname, userID, and password already but still no success.

I'm not familiar with that application, but my first guess is that you have some sort of special (non-alphanumeric) character in your password that needs quoting/escaping in the Nagios check definition.
