Adding a new service in NagiosXI

Post by cskang »

I have created a plugin and uploaded to NagiosXI by using Admin->Manage Plugins web page.
After the upload, I can see the name of my plugin listed in the table.

Then, I created a command to invoke the plugin that I have just created by using Config->Core Config->Commands web page.
After applying it, I can see the command in the list.

Now, I am trying to create a new service in Config->Core Config->Services web page.
But, I could not find my command that I created in above step in the pull down menu of "Check command *" field in the Common Settings tap after clicking Add New button.

Is there a different way to create a new service for that command/plugin that I created?

I found that I marked the command that I created as misc type instead of check type.
(well, the command is not really check type)

When I changed the command type to check type, now it appears in "Check commnad *" pull down menu and I can use it for my service.
