Nagios on Oracle

Could you please provide the documentation needed to successfully install Nagios XI on an oracle server?

Oracle is currently an unsupported distribution for Nagios XI installations, you can technically do this by editing the fullinstall script, and making other necessary changes as issues occur on your end, but we will not be able to offer the same support if problems specific to the distribution interfering with Nagios XI arise.

How is it unsupported, but there are plugins and wizards for oracle servers?

Those plugins and wizards are for *monitoring* Oracle, not *installing* Nagios on Oracle.

So with our Oracle Server being linux machines, we could use the nrpe to install the client and then choose the Oracle wizard to monitor it?

Yep. You may have to edit the agent install script to get it to accept oracle linux - we have updated the client to support oracle, but we have yet to release the updated version.

So where do I get the client needed to do this?

Can you post the whole error message from trying to install the linux client? I need to know what changes need to be made for your distribution.

I haven't installed the client yet to get an error. I am asking for a link to get the nrpe client.
