Cisco Switch

Post by pireland »

Hi

We have a few Cisco 3750 being monitored by our Nagios Xi server, however we have done some repatching and some ports are no longer in use.
These ports are alerting as down in nagios? Is there a correct way to stop the alerting or do i remove the service as there isn't anything plugged into that port.

Either way will work, however since you know you don't need to check those ports I would suggest disabling the checks altogether to save some CPU time.

I would recommend you deactivate the port status check if it is not needed. Configure > CCM > Services > Check the boxes on each service you wish to deactivate, then scroll to the bottom and choose "With Selected: Deactivate." Then apply configuration.
