Licensing For High Availability

Post by sav2880 »

Question on the licensing end of Nagios XI. We're looking to implement a high-availability setup (more for failover) using this template:

http://nagios.sourceforge.net/download/ ... sHA_EN.pdf

Since only one Nagios instance is designed to be alive and active at any given time, would this require one Nagios XI license, or would we need an unlimited host license for both servers? If it matters, these will both be virtual servers.

Thanks!

Our typical license allows for three installations: One production, one testing, and one backup. Since only one can be running at a time, this would work in your situation. If you need more than one failover, you will need more than one license.
