NSCA for 32-bit Redhat?

Post by andersonm »

Hi - We've been running nsca-2.7.2 for many months on many dozens of hosts and I didn't realize until today that it apparently isn't 32-bit compatible - true? On a 32-bit host, "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.10 (Tikanga)" I'm getting "Exec format error" with NSCA client execution. Any advice for this forum newbie?

How did you install nsca?
If you just copied the bin, then you may have originally built the bin on a 64 bit system. You may have to compile nsca for 32 bit systems.

One of our sysadmins was able to make it work - he extracted the send_nsca binary from an RPM and he also had to install the libmcrypt shared library; now it works. Thanks for your help!
