Script to add machines to nagios

Hello,

Is there method of using a script to add a host to a nagiosXI server somehow. We bring VM's up and down for temporary uses that need to be monitored. The VM's are scripted and I would like to write a script for automating the addition of these servers to Nagios.

Regards,

Randy.

I would highly suggest taking a look at the talk below from Activision at our world conference in 2012.

See if that will suite your needs, I think its a pretty close although probably not perfect fit.

Where to find documentation?

Hello,

Thank you for the reply on this. It may be a solution for us. Where can I find some documentation on this?

Regards,

Randy. :)

About all the slides say is the Auto Deployment feature is available in 2011R3.2, unless I am missing something. Where is this feature at on the server?

Randy.

Hey intelXIadmin,

I believe what you are looking for is this:

http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... gement.pdf

That should show you how to automate the processes that were talked about in those slides.
