NagiosXI r1.5 VM WMI CPU Queries

Post by Snook »

Hi Guys,

Having issues with Nagios sending notifications because sometimes it receives a negative value for CPU usage using the WMI plugin. Example:
***** Nagios XI Alert *****

Notification Type: PROBLEM

Service: CPU Usage
Host: melvil.spa.local
Address: 192.168.10.14
State: CRITICAL
Info:
CRITICAL - [Triggered by _AvgCPU0] - Average CPU Utilisation -0.01% (Over approx 5 sec period)
Date/Time: 2011-07-08 14:12:39
Any ideas why this happens and how to fix? WMI seems a bit buggy...

I see that. It's possible there's a logical error somewhere in the WMI check. Would you be willing to file a bug report on this at tracker.nagios.com? If you can outline in detail as to what you're experiencing, what checks are returning false results, and under what circumstances the bug seems to appear, it'll help us track the issue down if it's in the script.
