Upgrading to 2014 breaks WMI

Post by BanditBBS »

Just upgraded another one of my 2012 servers to 2014. IT OVERWROTE my check_wmi_plus!!!

Luckily this server only monitored a few windows servers and wasn't heavily modified like my other main one!

It downgraded the check_wmi_plus script. You need to remove the WMI upgrade when upgrading. If someone heavily customized their WMi install, wow would they be very screwed on this as it would have overwritten quite a bit.

/rant off :)

Close this up, just wanted to point this out!

I'm assuming you have backups? Should be stuck in there.

I can see your point, but we do use that plugin in some wizards so we need to upgrade/change it along with regular updates. Also Andy says "No" for some reason.

I was able to fix it quickly, I'm not drunk today celebrating my departure
At least if someone else searches they will see this and know what happened. I just had to copy over the current perl script. I don't customize the conf files at all, luckily!
